Bio

I’m a behavioural scientist and research consultant with over a decade of experience in psychology, public health, alcohol research, and social impact work across Australia and Europe. I specialize in making complex research usable by turning data into strategy, and evidence into clarity.

Originally from the Netherlands, I earned my PhD in Behavioural Science at Radboud University Nijmegen, where my work focused on youth behaviour, developmental psychology, and social learning. I’ve since held academic and leadership roles at La Trobe University (Australia), the Trimbos Institute (NL), and Radboud University, contributing to national and international projects on child protection, resilience, and alcohol-related harm. I have also worked as a research consultant with NGOs and local councils, helping them obtain grant funding, study design, and translation of evidence into practice.

Alongside my research work, I’ve founded two ventures for real-world impact:

  • Yogademics, a wellbeing platform combining movement and mindfulness for high-performing professionals.

  • Expat Connections, a community initiative with events, workshops and teaching to help expats find clarity, confidence, and true connection in a new world.

Want to collaborate? I operate remotely and flexibly between Australia, the Netherlands, and beyond.

Why

I’ve always been driven by questions about social behaviour, but also about what makes life meaningful. After years in academia, I realised that knowledge alone doesn’t change people. Connection does. Embodiment does.

As someone who has left home, crossed cultures, and rebuilt a life abroad, I’ve felt the disorientation that comes with ambition and reinvention. And especially creating a new social life. And I’ve seen how many expats, professionals, researchers succeed on paper, yet feel disconnected from others and themselves.

With my research and projects (Yogademics and Expat Connections) I aim to help people realign with what matters. This work is my way of bridging the intellectual and the embodied.
